Primary Mathematics

Primary Mathematics
Our unique and differentiated Maths Curriculum integrates the Quintessential core of the SG Maths Curriculum with other International School Maths Curriculum that will mesmerize students and allow them to gain a whole new appreciation for how fun and enriching maths can be. Not only does our Primary Mathematics programme stretch those with strong mathematical abilities, it also engages those with weak fundamental mathematical skills through a variety of teaching strategies. The teaching of heuristics and metacognition in mathematical problem solving is central to the learning of mathematics in our Primary Mathematics programme.

How we can help:
  • A variety of resources, including i-PSLE and past years school examination papers, and differentiated teaching approaches are used to expose students to a variety of challenging problems for all International School students.
  • We equips our students with the competency in handling unfamilar or complex mathematical problems.
  • Discussion questions are used to provide cognitive challenge for students. These include higher-order questions and open questions to help students focus on key concepts, deep-en their understanding, make connections, and apply mathematical ideas and skills in different contexts.
